I also have a 2001 Ford Escape, LHD. I LOVE IT!! I took the center console out, fashioned a padded piece of plywood to span both seats and make a bench seat. Works great but it messes with the Air bag sensor (weight stradling both seats). Has plenty of room, and can fold down back seat for extra room. Mirrors fold in. Anywhere from 17-20 mpgs on the route, 26 highway. Runs great, A/C keeps up, Heat keeps up. At 206,000 it still runs perfectly, just had to rebuild transmission, but hey,----206,000 miles!!! I will definitely keep this one around as long as I can!
